Dr. Egbert's enthusiasm, passion, creativity, and wealth of practical knowledge make her a solid choice for your next Deaf Education, Deaf Studies, or Interpreter Training event. Whenever I'm at a conference and see her on the schedule -- that's the workshop I make sure to attend.  What can I say? I like to be entertained and educated at the same time.

Lisalee came to our school to speak at our weekly parent group meeting at the Maryland School for the Deaf, it was amazing to watch as the lightbulb's went off in the parents as the impact of Lisalee's message hit them.  We were lucky enough to have her  present to staff that same afternoon.  Lisalee's message is powerful and moving.  I hope to have her come back every year to speak with our families and staff.

           Discover Deaf Community

Whether you're a parent of a child who is Deaf, Deaf yourself, or a student in a Deaf Studies program you can join in the discovery of Deaf Culture and Community. All it takes is an open mind and a willingness to try a new thing or two along the way. Dr. Egbert has served in many roles in her local communities. From 2011 through 2020 she served on the Maryland State Senate Governor’s Advisory Committee for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH) and in 2017 the governor of Maryland awarded her a Civic Engagement Award. Starting in fall of 2023 she moved to Texas where she now serves as a professor and coordinator for the American Sign Language (ASL) program at the University of Texas at Arlington.
